The live virtual event will consist of a SLATT Program overview followed by the presentation titled "Sovereign Citizen Awareness: An Overview for Law Enforcement," which will be delivered by two SLATT subject-matter experts. This presentation provides a comprehensive overview of the sovereign citizen movement within the United States. Key topics include an overview of violent extremism; the history and ideological beliefs of sovereign citizens; behavioral indicators associated with adherents; tactics used when interacting with law enforcement or the judicial system; officer safety best practices; available investigative resources; and legal considerations, including First Amendment issues.
